History of PSG1

The development of PSG1 is said to be related to the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympics in West German. After this incident, the West German police units believed that it was necessary to equip a high-precision semi-auto sniper rifle to face similar incidents. So HK developed a semi-automatic rifle with high precision, high magazine capacity and suitable for police, the PSG1 was born.
The structure of PSG1 is similar with G3 rifle, but uses a thickened heavy barrel. The heavy barrel is mainly used to reduce barrel vibration during shooting to increase shooting accuracy. In addition, a low-noise forward assist similar to the M16 rifle is designed on the right side of the upper.
All of PSG1 rifles have no mechanical sights, but are equipped with dedicated scopes (VFC GBBR version uses MIL-STD-1913 rail), adjustable handgrips and buttstocks.
The adjustable buttstock is one of unique features of PSG1. It is made by high-density plastic, with a black rough texture, and can be adjusted to any angle to fit all users. It can adjust the length, pivoting butt cap and adjust the height of the cheek pad. There is also a trigger shoe that can be detached and adjusted to make it easier for the user to adapt to the rifle. The stroke of the trigger can be adjusted and can also be removed from the trigger guard.
